Back on Track!
We found new suppliers for our actuators which means that the RacingCUBE product is now back on track!
Steffen here is going to Dubai August 12th until August 20th. Do you want to meet up with him and meet one of the people behind the RacingCUBE? Then here is your chance. Send him an email with an argument for him to meet up with you, by writing to him at: firstname.lastname@example.org, then he will get back to you ASAP.
This may be great news!
If everything is successful at our business meeting in Dubai, it will mean we are able to resume our work on finishing up the RacingCUBE. If this is the case we will have a new release schedule ready by the start of September!
Some of our suppliers have bailed on us, which means we are currently unable to retrieve crucial components for the RacingCUBE's actuators.
This means that we are currently working day and night on finding new suppliers for the parts we are unable to retrieve. This, however, also means that until we have found the right suppliers for these, we are unable to determine a deadline for the products being ready. This also means that we will have to postpone any existing deadlines for the moment.
We promise that we will send an update as soon as we have any further information on the deadlines for the RacingCUBE, we thank you for your understanding! We did not see this coming..
We still enforce the pre-order list, and we will keep it open for new sign ups until we have news on the components.
Behold! The RacingCUBE has arrivedTwo years of blood, sweat and tears, and more up's and down's than we can count, has led to the revealing of our powerful, affordable Racing simulator. This is the final version, no more tweaks or adjustments will be made; we are now focusing on getting ready to ship this product to all of you!Now that the development has been completed for the CV1 version, we have a release schedule ready for you. See it by clicking here
We have been working hard to build the final and production-ready model of the RacingCUBE, and it is beginning to pay off! We are getting ever closer to finishing the product. In fact, we expect to have initial prices ready for you before the end of April, that's within a month! We're really excited to show you even more, very soon. Keep posted, and remember you can always email us at: email@example.com
Below you can see a fresh bunch of pictures, taken from the assembly line!
We have finally started the production of the CV1 model. Here is a teaser for the 4DOF while playing DCS.
As you all may know by now, we chose to postpone the release of the RacingCUBE in February due to the unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign. Since then, we have funded the project ourselves and we have introduced the 4DOF heave version which would not have been possible if the Kickstarter succeeded, due to time limits.
Recently, we lost a member of the IT staff, and our E-mail system went down for a while. The issue has been resolved and I have answered all E-mails by now (If I did not respond to your E-mail please contact me again!)
Pricing & Launch
MANY of you asks about prices and launch dates. I cannot tell you exactly yet but prices will be slightly higher than Kickstarter prices due to the premium build quality and features. Regarding the release date, we are moving to a bigger assembly building in October and we will start mass production once we are settled.
Pictures and Videos of the CV1 model
I know a lot of you want to see the consumer version and I want to show I to you! At the moment we are testing it for 24/7 use and stability to ensure our components can take the stress. I will be traveling to Holbæk (location of our engineer) in a few weeks and I have been allowed to take pictures and make videos of the CV1 model (YAY!) and publish them. I can tell you that Elite: dangerous will be a priority with HOTAS to show you the potential of the 4DOF (Heave model).
The CV1 model is not for commercial use. Once we have launched the CV1, we will start discussing a model intended for commercial use. Also software rights need to be adjusted for commercial use of the RacingCUBE.
We are VERY interested in resellers in the future! For the time being we need to focus on the release of the CV1, once we have released the RacingCUBE to our customers we will discuss terms & conditions for resellers. Please be patient.
Bonus Facts about the CV1 simulator.
- It can handle 150kg+ (Dependent on balance and weight distribution, speed is dependent on weight also)
- Engine heat protection - Dependent on load, the engines will throttle performance to ensure stable operating conditions. In other words, they cannot get overheated.
- Safety features – We have enclosed the engines to make the simulator safer. The implementation is not fully done yet; we are still working on it.
- All movements can be adjusted in the software, Also the wheels can be turned off by software if needed.
- An emergency button has been installed on the simulator if anything should go wrong (Game is crashing while instructions is still sent to the simulator, etc.)
I’m getting a lot of emails currently about pricing and release time, and as I wrote in the lase update we chose to postpone the February release due to security implementations. Now, while looking at the security our engineer worked on a side project to make the simulator even more epic! The tests went so well that we’re going to implement it, and add a 4DOF simulator. You might have guessed it; we’re adding HEAVE!
To clarify, we’re still going to sell the 2DOF and the 3DOF version, and if you choose to buy the 2DOF you’ll always be able to buy an extra motor module and upgrade to 3DOF. Now comes the exiting part, we’re working on making the 3DOF upgradeable to a 4DOF using our existing module design, (release a few screws and slide it in). and the best part, we have tested the heave function with 150kgs. We’re not sure what the final specs will be of the 4DOF version yet, as we’re still testing it.
Unfortunately, I can’t post pictures or videos for you quite yet, as the simulator is not assembled at the moment. But I can assure you that you’ll be able to feel hills, bumps in the road and turbulence in the sky with the new heave function! I’m really looking forward to showing you all the new versions and I can’t wait for it to get released.
I also have a few new exciting smaller features to share with you;
- Heave (As mentioned above)
- Adjustable Steering wheel mount. It’s completely adjustable in any direction.
- Adjustable seat platform. You can also use your own seat, or whatever you would prefer, modularity is the key!
- We have developed our own motor controller software, it’s faster, supports our motors natively and we have more control.
- Adjust motor force and speed with one dedicated button and adjust movement min/max with a second dedicated button, ON THE FLY. Pretty neat huh?
Regarding pricing and release. I’ll release prices in advance of the launch, as soon as possible. I can’t say when it’s going to be released yet, but we’re reaching the final stage which is packaging. As soon as our engineer gives me the green light, I’ll post pictures and videos, followed by pricing. I’ll announce that here, on Facebook and on Kickstarter.
3-03-2016 - The Last Details
We’re now in March 2016 and you might ask, where is the RacingCUBE?
I can assure you all that its release is right around the corner. The design and functionality of the simulator is done, and our engineer is currently working on safety. We postponed the February release to make sure it’s ready for use and to ensure the safety is approved. Along with the last implementations of security it will be CE certified before final release (European standard of the FCC Declaration of Conformity).
While our engineer is working hard on the last details our IT guys is working on the web store, unfortunately I don’t have a date for you yet, but very soon.
I’ve been allowed to post a teaser for you all to see. More pictures will be available before the store goes online.
27-01-2016 - Progress
Let me start by saying that so far we’re keeping our schedule of releasing the consumer version of the RacingCUBE by the end of February. I'm sorry for the lack of updates the last few months, but I can assure you that a lot has happened! We’re focusing on finishing and polishing the consumer version. Unfortunately, I can't show it at the moment as our engineer won't let me until it's completely done. It should not be very long, but we want to make sure it’s as easy to use as possible. Keep in mind that you will now be purchasing a finished product.
I've been allowed to highlight some of the new and upgraded features that comes with the consumer version:
- New and stronger motors (we’re raising the maximum load from 130kg to minimum 150kg dependent on weight distribution)
- Improved and stronger framework
- Redesigned controller
- Improved wheel configuration
- Highly configurable
- Upgradable parts, (specifications coming soon)
- No maintenance
- A lot of accessories will be available
- Redesigned feedback system
- Adjustable steering wheel support, foot support and seat
This is only some of the features the consumer version will offer, in the near future I'll post pictures and videos of it.
When can I order it?
As we're keeping our schedule, we’re going to release prices and configurations within weeks, we want to make sure that it’s perfect and we want you to have the best experience. Our Kickstarter backers will get the first batch, after that our pre-order site will come online.
What about Virtual Reality?
We're focusing mainly on VR, the Oculus Rift DK2 works perfect with the RacingCUBE and we're making sure the consumer version will too. When other brand becomes available well test those also.
As soon as the consumer version is finished I’ll post pictures and more detailed specs about it, until then we’ll all have to wait.
From now on I’ll use this page for updates and news. You can also follow us on Facebook, Kickstarter and YouTube.
